Career opportunity with Huskvarna Hotell och Vandrarhem

Career Center would like to welcome you to a career opportunity with Huskvarna Hotell och Vandrarhem. They will visit Service center on March 2nd and would like to meet students who are looking for a part time job next to their studies. They also offer summer jobs. The jobs available are in the breakfast and cleaning department. There will also be 1-2 positions within reception (for these positions Swedish is required)You will meet Christina Ström, finance manager and receptionist. Bring your updated CV to the session.

At this time, you will also get the chance to talk to me, Lisa Wikberg, who works as a career counsellor in Jönköping University. Career Center will inform you on what kind of career support you can get during your study time, such as career guidance, feedback on applications and Linkedin, our seminars and lectures and much more.

An alumnus story - Andrea Stålberg from Global studies

Experiences from working with caste discrimination in India

Andrea Stålberg graduated from the Global Studies Program 2022. She has a great interest in human rights, especially with a focus on women and children. She recently came back from an internship in India through the organization The Swallows India Bangladesh. She has worked closely with a right-based organization, focusing on defending the rights of Dalits, also referred to as “the untouchables”.

Her presentation will focus on Caste discrimination by sharing experiences from the tragic but true reality of their everyday life. She will share stories from meetings with people who lost their loved ones in the name of honor. She will also talk about organizations and people who continuously fight against the discriminating legal system in the pursuit for justice and strive to maintain human rights – for all.
