Purposeful outdoor learning: an international perspective

Sue Waite, Associate Professor (Reader) in Outdoor Learning at Plymouth University, will present a recent international survey of expert commentators about purposeful outdoor learning in schools, looking at drivers for outdoor learning across countries, such as health, wellbeing, environmental action and foundational non-cognitive skills for learning.
The findings seek to inform how different forms of school-based outdoor learning can support specific positive outcomes. She will also consider reported challenges to providing opportunities for outdoor learning and how some schools in the Natural Connections project addressed them.
