Esther Lim presents at Co-Lab

Co-Lab is an international network consisting of researchers mainly from the US and various countries in Europe. You are warmly welcome to attend when Jönköping Academy doctoral student Esther Lim presents her research in this context.

Talk Title: The Process of Change in Introducing Coproduction - the Case of the ESTHER Network in Singapore

Description: Organisational change is often driven by strategy, structure, and leadership. Yet beneath these mechanisms lie the cultural and relational foundations that shape how change is understood and sustained. Using an insider action research approach, the study investigates how managers, practitioners, and service users make sense of and negotiate coproduction in their daily work. Drawing on interviews, focus groups, observations, document analysis, and survey data, the research captures how change unfolds at structural and relational levels. The talk explores these foundations through the introduction of coproduction—specifically the ESTHER Network—within Singapore’s public healthcare system.

Bio: Esther Lim is the chief allied health professional in Singapore General Hospital, SingHealth. Trained in social work and family and marital therapy, she also holds a Master of Science in Evidence-Based Social Intervention from the University of Oxford. Since 2016, she has championed ESTHER Network in Singapore. Her professional and research interests include leadership development, organisational learning, and system change. She is a PhD candidate, and her dissertation explores the process of change involved in introducing coproduction in Singapore.

Ge inte upp det goda ljuset! Open lecture with Peter Björkman, JU's honorary doctor 2025

Welcome to the JMW salen at the University library and attend lectures by JU's honorary doctors.

Peter Björkman is Light Planning Manager at Fagerhult Lighting and has been a driving force in product and application development for almost two decades. He has had a close and long-standing collaboration with Jönköping University, where he has been a key figure in the development of the bachelor's programme in lighting design and lighting technology – a programme that is unique in its kind both nationally and internationally.

As a former student and member of the programme's industry council, Björkman has contributed both practical expertise and strategic development. Through lectures, research collaborations and an active partnership between Fagerhult and JU, he has promoted knowledge exchange and inspired the lighting designers of the future. His passion for the role of light in community building makes him an obvious choice for an honorary doctorate.

The lectures are held at Jönköping University and are open to everyone – a unique opportunity to learn about current research, socially relevant perspectives and visions for the future. Read more about the programme and the honorary doctors. This lecture is held in Swedish.

The Surprised Expert - What Happened and How Did I End Up Here? Open lecture with Joakim Paasikivi, JU's honorary doctor 2025

Welcome to the JMW salen at the University library and attend lectures by JU's honorary doctors.

Joakim Paasikivi is a retired lieutenant colonel with a long career in the Swedish Armed Forces, where he has served as a lecturer in military strategy at the Swedish National Defence College in Stockholm and the Baltic Defence College in Estonia. He has held leading roles in intelligence and security services in both Sweden and Finland. Since retiring in 2024, he has been working as a geopolitical advisor at Mannheimer Swartling.

Paasikivi became a familiar face in the Swedish media during Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, where he explained complex security policy issues to the public with pedagogical clarity. His efforts as an educator and analyst in geopolitics, international relations and civil preparedness have made him a trusted voice in public discourse – and an invaluable contributor to an informed and resilient civil society.

The lectures are held at Jönköping University and are open to everyone – a unique opportunity to learn about current research, socially relevant perspectives and visions for the future. Read more about the programme and the honorary doctors.
