In conjunction with this year's Academic Ceremony, the universitiy's new professors and honorary doctors will give public lectures on Thursday 2 May and Friday 3 May, 2024.

The Thursday public lectures will be given by those professors who will be inaugurated at the Academic Ceremony as well as the winner of the Pedagogical Prize.

The inauguration of full professors and conferment of PhDs takes place every 18 months at Jönköping University. The celebration is an impressive occasion with many guests, beautiful, festive clothes, speeches and live music.

This year, the presidential installation, inauguration and conferment ceremony is taking place on 4 May.

Staff and students who want to attend the ceremony may pick up maximum two free tickets in the Service Center, until 3 May. Bring your JU card for identification!

Promovendi and other guests have received a separate invitation. If you have already registered for the ceremony, you do not need to collect a free ticket.

Emelie is PhD student within Disability Research and has just finished her thesis "Finding a pathway - through a procedure in a high-technology environment for a child with an autism spectrum disorder from the perspectives of parents and healthcare professionals".

Professor Kristina Säfsten at the School of Engineering (JTH) at Jönköping University (JU) is the moderator for ’JTH Talks’ on May 14, focusing on the learnings and results from JTH's collaboration with Träcentrum in Nässjö. During the seminar, Associate Professor Jenny Bäckstrand and Assistant Professor Malin Löfving from JTH will talk about their experiences from acting as boundary spanners between academia and industry. They will also give examples of projects that have been (and are) conducted jointly between JTH and Träcentrum.

This lunch seminar includes a light lunch, but the number of lunches is limited, so first come, first served!
