Henrik Flodhammar, a former teacher and Ph.D. Candidate at Jönköping University, shares his experience from an 18-year project of natural forest regeneration in Panama as well as information on the latest developments on how apps can be used – by us and local activists - to protect the environment and monitor tree growth on a global scale. Henrik has worked for the United Nations and SIDA, as well as with NGOs and the private sector on sustainable forestry for the last 20 years. This work has included wildlife conservation of rhinos and elephants in Asia, as well as the ongoing exciting work of forest regeneration in Panama - last year a jaguar was spotted in the regenerated forest! MMTC Research SeminarWelcome to the upcoming MMTC seminar with Olof Brunninge on Wed, June 17th . Please note that the seminar will run 15 min earlier than usual from 11:45-12:45. Olof will present his project “SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT - Experiences from a virtual mobility project connecting Jönköping, Moscow and Vilnius”. Would you like to offer your student an exchange experience without having to go abroad? Maybe before their “real” exchange or as a way of adding one more international dimension to your course? Last year, students from JIBS, Moscow State University and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University engaged in cross-border collaboration to solve teaching cases on Sustainable Management. This was done using ICT without having physical meetings. Olof Brunninge will report from the experiences and address the following questions: • How can you add a virtual exchange experience to your course? • What learning outcomes can result from such a collaboration? • What do you need to think of to make this work? The research seminar will run as an online seminar. Please use the following id to join in: https://ju-se.zoom.us/j/745204163, Meeting ID: 745 204 163 Organizer: Media, Management and Transformation Centre |

MMTC Research Seminar presented by Mart OtsMMTC Research Seminar Mart Ots will present a seminar based on his paper entitled “Picturing markets: Observables and representational practices in the making of an Influencer market”. Drawing on a social media data set covering a dramatic episode in the formation of the Swedish Influencer market, the paper explores the ‘observables’ being produced – representing alternative visualizations of what the market is, and how it functions. The paper suggests that observables play an important role in the shaping of nascent markets. Organizer: Media, Management and Transformation Centre |
